The hospital at Travis AFB ordered this portrait for one of their leaders, she is retiring and they wanted to say thanks. Thanks to all who serve in the military!
I had the opportunity to stay with my best friend for a dew days, and while we were having tons of fun, I noticed that her home was filled with beautiful still life compositions. Cate and her husband have turned their university owned tiny cinder block apartment into a BEAUTIFUL home. :)
This step is really fun, sort through paper and rip it up, design, then glue it in place. I've done this with the "Lilies" paintings, and the "Vacation" paintings but I've never shown what it looks like at this stage.
I've been sick and haven't been drawing for a while but this was a fun one I've wanted to do for a long time :) I took this picture while my family was visiting Spain years ago but I couldn't decide if I wanted to draw, oil paint, or watercolor it. Instead I scanned my mom's scrapbook paper collection and used Photoshop to fill in a line drawing.
I'm just finishing up this order, its funny I feel like I get to know all these strangers I draw, even though I often don't even know their name. If I ran into one of them on the street they would be pretty creeped out that a stranger recognized them ;)I'm still trying to figure out how to use watercolors.
I love this photograph so much! A woman contacted me wanting to get a present for her parents, she is getting married and wanted a family portrait drawn. The really fun part is that the newborn in this picture is the woman getting married :) She says this was the first picture they have of them as a whole family. So cool :)
You've seen this one before, the woman wanted 4 original drawings. Although I really liked this picture, it isn't very fun doing the same drawing 4 times. ;) I was really excited to be done.
A lady ordered this picture for a friend's birthday, working small with colored pencils is actually harder than I thought. I keep thinking these other mediums are simple like pencils but they aren't, I'm still figuring out the colored pencils.
