Watercolor Portraits

Watercolor on watercolor paper, 5x7 inches

I'm just finishing up this order, its funny I feel like I get to know all these strangers I draw, even though I often don't even know their name. If I ran into one of them on the street they would be pretty creeped out that a stranger recognized them ;)I'm still trying to figure out how to use watercolors.

First Family Picture

Pencil on Paper, 11x14 inches.

I love this photograph so much! A woman contacted me wanting to get a present for her parents, she is getting married and wanted a family portrait drawn. The really fun part is that the newborn in this picture is the woman getting married :) She says this was the first picture they have of them as a whole family. So cool :)

Smile!

Pencil on paper, 8 x 10.

This was a fun order, such crisp lines and a great candid smile.

Multiple originals.

Pencil on paper, 5x7

You've seen this one before, the woman wanted 4 original drawings. Although I really liked this picture, it isn't very fun doing the same drawing 4 times. ;) I was really excited to be done.

birthday present

Prisma colored pencils: 5x7 in.

A lady ordered this picture for a friend's birthday, working small with colored pencils is actually harder than I thought. I keep thinking these other mediums are simple like pencils but they aren't, I'm still figuring out the colored pencils.

Not much to say about this one, but thanks again to all our troops and military people out there!

Week 14: Newborn.

Pencil on paper. 8x10 in.

This is a sad story, this is a picture of a sweet child that passed away shortly after birth. A lady contacted me and wanted this picture drawn for her friend, the child's mother. The baby was expected to be healthy so the death was so unexpected. The only picture they have of him was taken with a cell phone, and the friend had to photoshop the breathing tube out of the picture. I've never done a picture like this, I can't imagine how hard that kind of loss would be.

Week 13: Military retirement

Pencil on paper. 8 x 10.

Summers usually mean moves, and eventually retirement for military families. Several are retiring and moving from my Dad's group, and the hospital picture and portraits are the going away gifts. It is impressive to see how many sacrifice for this country. God bless the U.S.A.

Tori. (old photos).

Photography.

My dad got me an old 35mm film camera off of e-bay a few years ago, and I came across these pictures recently. I love black and white film, and 35mm cameras. So much.
